Welcome to the Crown!

Manningtree is one of the smallest towns in Britain, and the Crown Hotel is one of its oldest pubs, dating back to the 17th century. Today it is probably the most popular family venue in the area. There's always a warm welcome the moment you step into the Crown Hotel. You can enjoy all the modern trappings together with the unique old world atmosphere.

We take great pride in our standard of service. Our beers are the very best, and when it comes to food, whether it's a bar snack, a full meal in one of the restaurants, relaxing on the terrace or a private function in the Haven bar, our aim is to have really satisfied customers every time.

Thank you for your custom and we hope to see you again - soon.

River Restaurant and Bars

The River Restaurant overlooks the River Stour. It is the ideal location for any special occasion and can comfortably seat 50 people. Our comprehensive menu of home made food means we can cater for a wide variety of tastes. Famous too for our Sunday Lunches, the Crown’s regulars come from every corner of the county to enjoy them. During the warmer weather you can enjoy relaxing on the Terrace/Patio area – a favourite for those with families.

The Public Bar has retained its period look with some of the beams from the original building still to be seen. Also on view is a piece of “wattle and daub” plaster work preserved behind glass.

In the River Bar and the River Restaurant there is an abundance of interesting bric-a-brac from bygone days, a fascinating bit of history of past life in Manningtree, most of the items have been donated by our customers.
